Well, he took a little while longer to finish than expected, but here he is!
This is a figurine of Mecha Sonic, as he was featured as Knuckles' final Boss (and one of Sonic's fights) in Sonic & Knuckles for the MD/Genesis.
Where did I start with this one? Well, I started construction at Christmas, with the Super Sonic project running alongside. The figure is made from parts of both the Sonic and Shadow figures from the "Sonic X Megabot Series 1" action figure line. I have actually used very little of their parts however, and i'm sure you'll agree, the figure looks very unlike either. The head was Shadow's, and the stubs of the spikes were Sonic's. However, Mecha's spikes are much longer and sharper, and indeed the whole structure of the head is different. This took a large amount of time and patience to construct. All claywork was done with the milliput epoxy resin. The arms and legs are entirely constructed from Milliput, and plastic tubing.
I am particularly fond of the visor effect across Mecha's eye.
As far as craftmanship goes, this was a lot of hard work. The Super Sonic figure only required a few superficial changes...this in comparision was like building a Porsche from a Citroen 2CV. For more detail on construction, check out my blog. Thanks!

But you should put more Silver Detail on the head, cause actually,he does not have silver parts, only blue.
But still a great job!!
AWSOME JOB!!!!!
I just couldn't hold it in.
That Mecha Sonic is the best of them all! God, why don't they use it more?
I'm a real fan of Mecha Sonic!
How did you even observe enough detail to see this?
Mecha Sonic was so complex in S3&K, I tried to draw him and I just couldn't see through the detail. XD
This will help me, though.
Good work 8D
